The House on the Corner

There is something calming in a routine that includes prayer. A few weeks before the COVID lockdown began my mother passed away and I joined a virtual community to say the mourners prayer together with others.

Early each morning I prayed by a window facing the street and I began to take a quick photos of a nearby house as part of my routine. Days accumulated, as did the number of photographs of this home.

These images are a visual representation of gradual change.  As time flowed so slowly tiny changes occurred. The weather changed, trash was collected, traffic ebbed and flowed, people walked on lonely sidewalks. Seasons came and then faded away.  Over time my prayer habits changed, so gradually there are fewer photos of this gracious home. Still, though, it is the many changes taking place around the house that show the passage of time.
